Eddie Vedder Says His Recent Illness Felt Like a Near-Death Experience
Pearl Jam just had to cancel a handful of shows due to an unspecified illness. Well, it turns out Eddie Vedder was one of the people who had it, and it was bad.
During their return to the stage in Barcelona, Spain on Saturday, Eddie told the crowd it, quote, "almost felt like a near-death experience."
He said, quote, "It was very uncomfortable, and it got frightening. It felt like chest bronchitis.
"It felt like maybe you couldn't breathe and maybe you wouldn't make it through the night and maybe you'd have to go to the hospital and maybe you'd . . ." He trailed off there, but you can figure out where he was going with this.
Eddie added, quote, "You just realize how precious this life is, how lucky we are to have been living on a planet where we can go around and play to incredible people like the people in this room here tonight."

Don't Expect Alex Van Halen to Join Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony on Tour
Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony will honor their work together in Van Halen on the Best of All Worlds Tour, with guitarist Joe Satriani and drummer Jason Bonham.
This would be a great time for Alex Van Halen to step up and join them. But don't get your hopes up.
Sammy and Michael reached out to him multiple times, and got NO RESPONSE.
Sammy says, quote, "We made every offer to get together or to just talk or to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. Go to the studio and play. Come to my house or I'll come to your house. Go ride horses, go sit on the beach.
"What do you want to do? Let's just do something. Let's get together. And nothing."
He adds, quote, "He sold all of his equipment. That was his statement. That was like, 'Nah, I ain't coming nowhere.'"

Joe Bonsall from The Oak Ridge Boys Died Yesterday
Joe Bonsall, who was a long-time member of The Oak Ridge Boys, passed away yesterday. He was 76 years old. He battled for four years with the neuromuscular disease ALS.
Joe joined the group in 1973 and his high harmonies really soared on hits like, "Elvira" and "Bobby Sue". The Oak Ridge Boys went on to win five Grammys and were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015.
Joe was a member of the Grand Ole Opry . . . the Philadelphia Music Hall of Fame . . . the Gospel Music Hall of Fame . . . and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame.
Joe's passing comes only eight days after the death of Rusty Golden, who's the son of The Oak Ridge Boys' William Lee Golden.
