Danny Trejo had an interesting Fourth of July, filled with fireworks . . . and FISTICUFFS.
Danny and some friends were cruising in their lowriders in the Sunland-Tujunga parade in California when someone pelted them with water balloons.
So they got out of their cars and started BRAWLING. In a video from the event, you can see Danny fall backward off a curb and go down . . . then get back up and rejoin the fight.
TMZ spoke to Danny after the incident, and he said he was sad about the whole thing. Not only for the way he reacted, but the fact that grown men felt the need to throw balloons.
He's also confident that his crew was TARGETED because they were Mexican because no one else was being attacked.
And he claims that when the first balloon was thrown, someone yelled that it was ACID, which is one of the reasons he freaked out.
Police did show up, but the crowd had already dispersed, so no arrests were made.
Danny just turned 80, by the way, and he's STILL throwing punches.
