For everyone who can't see the full eclipse today, there are a few different ways to watch it online.

 

 

You can check it out on NASA's live YouTube stream . Something called the Virtual Telescope Project is also showing it, and TimeAndDate.com has its live feed, too.

A "total" solar eclipse also cut across the U.S. 45 years ago in 1979. Only a few states in the Pacific Northwest got to see the full thing back then, but people in other states were excited too. An NBC affiliate in Dallas-Fort Worth posted their coverage from February 26th, 1979.
