The Offspring Shares Wrap Date For New Album
Fans have been wondering when The Offspring would follow up their 2021 album “Let The Bad Times Roll”… and now they have an answer. Sort of. “We’re almost done with the next (LP),” revealed guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman. “We’re hoping to be done by the end of (April).” Producer Bob Rock, who’s overseen the band’s last three albums, is also lending a hand for the new work. As of this writing, no release date has been revealed.

So you say you're 54 years old, and you still listen to the music you loved when you were 13? Don't worry, that's not a sign of immaturity. You're perfectly normal.
A therapist named Nikki Roy says, quote, "There is a thing called neural nostalgia where researchers are actually finding that the music we listen to as teenagers binds to our brains differently than anything we're ever going to hear as adults."
That actually makes that music a great coping mechanism, because it, quote, "helps us get out of our heads and helps us connect to ourselves. It makes us feel alive again."
Author Daniel Levitin adds that the music we listen to at that age becomes attached to our sense of identity.
Quote, "We are discovering music on our own for the first time when we're young, often through our friends. We listen to the music they listen to as a badge, as a way of belonging to a certain social group."

Dashboard Confessional Reveals Plans For U.S. Tour.
Boca Raton, Florida-based rockers Dashboard Confessional hasn’t released an album since 2022’s “All The Truth That I Can Tell,” but that doesn’t mean they’re sitting still. In fact, the group’s hitting the road on a big tour this fall.
The jaunt will launch September 10th in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The band plans to make 27-stops around the country, plus an appearance at When We Were Young in Las Vegas. Supporting act Boys Like Girls will join the circuit. Tickets drop Friday, and head here for a full list.

Dolly Parton Gets Sole Songwriting Credit from Beyoncé for "Jolene" (MN)
The new version of "Jolene" is out and taking over the airwaves. And while Dolly sung, "I'm begging of you please don't take my main" . . . Beyoncé took a little more direct route with, quote, "I'm warning you, don't come for my man."
And for those that haven't heard it, Beyoncé pretty much rewrote the rest of the song, too. So, it was really awesome when the new version of "Jolene" came out to see Dolly Parton still credited as the SOLE songwriter.
The medley is the same as the original, so that could be it . . . but you gotta think that this turned out to be a VERY lucrative decision for Dolly. And Beyoncé is listed as the performer and the producer on the track, so she'll do OK too.
Glad she gave Dolly her "flowers" though. Classy move.
