Kate Middleton Is Battling Cancer

Okay, all of us who made fun of Kate Middleton over the past few weeks may take our seats on the bench, because we officially SUCK.

Kate posted a video explaining why she's been missing in action since her abdominal surgery in January. And it's because she has . . . or at least HAD . . . cancer.

Kate said the operation was for a condition they initially thought was "non-cancerous." But tests after the fact showed that, quote, "cancer had been present."

So she's been undergoing preventative chemotherapy.

She said, quote, "This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.

"As you can imagine, this has taken time. It has taken us time for me to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment.

"But most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that's appropriate for them and to reassure them I'm going to be OK."

After the video went up, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle issued a statement saying, quote, "We wish health and healing for Kate and the family and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace."

(Check out more well-wishes, from First Lady Jill Biden, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Maria Shriver, and others.)

Meanwhile, Blake Lively apologized for a social media joke making fun of Kate's viral Photoshop fail.
