Comedian Richard Lewis died Tuesday night after suffering a heart attack. He was 76. He had also been living with Parkinson's disease.
In addition to his brilliant standup career, Lewis also co-starred on the sitcom "Anything But Love" with Jamie Lee Curtis in the '80s and early '90s.
His films included "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" and "Leaving Las Vegas".
These days he's best known as a cast member of HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm", starring his childhood friend Larry David.
David issued a statement saying, quote, "Richard and I were born three days apart in the same hospital and for most of my life he's been like a brother to me.
"He had that rare combination of being the funniest person and also the sweetest. But today he made me sob and for that, I'll never forgive him." (Perfect.)
Jamie Lee paid tribute to him on Instagram, where she called him, quote, "the reason I am sober."
