Music: Pearl Jam Unveils Plans For New Album and New Tour. No Texas Dates

Pearl Jam Unveils Plans For New Album and New Tour, Drop Single

Yesterday was a big day for Pearl Jam fans. The iconic rock group not only announced their first album since 2020’s “Gigaton,” but they also dropped news of a massive world tour launching later this spring.

“Dark Matter” is set to arrive on April 19th. “It’s a lot heavier than you’d expect,” admitted guitarist Mike McCready. “There’s the melody and energy of the first couple of records (we made).” And as fans prepare for the new work, the Eddie Veder-led group dropped its title track… which includes a sly reference to heavy metal star King Diamond.

The tour will launch May 4th from Vancouver, BC (where they’ll also play on May 6th). They will head back to the US until June, which will take them on an international trek through Europe. More dates will bring them back to the US this summer before heading to Australia and New Zealand. Some of the dates are below, and head here for ticket info and a full list of stops.

Jelly Roll Might Be 250 Pounds Lighter a Year from Now

A year from now, Jelly Roll might only be HALF the man he is now. Because Gary Brecka . . . who has been referred to as a "human biologist" and a "biohacker" . . . is helping him lose weight.

Brecka says Jelly Roll weighed in at 494 pounds when they started working together, and he plans to strip 250 pounds off him in the next 12 to 14 months.

He says, quote, "I am so excited to be on this journey with him, and he's been very vulnerable about it too. He said 'You know Gary, this is the first time that I've felt like my weight is killing me.'"

Listen to Brecka talk about working with Jelly Roll here . . . and here's UFC boss Dana White talking about how Brecka transformed HIS life.)

Robert Plant Isn't Sure He'll Ever Perform "Stairway to Heaven" Again

Robert Plant performed "Stairway to Heaven" last October at a cancer charity event organized by former Duran Duran guitarist Andy Taylor. It was his first time performing it in 16 years.

Robert says the experience was cathartic and a trial by fire, and he felt better at the end than the beginning. And while he knows it's a very important song for him, he's not sure he'll ever perform it again.

But he adds, quote, "Something could change somewhere. Spirit and heart could come back in the soul. It's a long song. Who can remember all those words?"
