Shoppers Report Costco is Pulling Its Controversial Roast Beef Sandwich From The Food Court.
Costco recently removed its popular food court churro from menus to the dismay of many fans and shoppers are now reporting that Costco’s much-maligned Roast Beef Sandwich is also getting the plug pulled.
The Costco Roast Beef Sandwich made its debut in February of 2023, and customers were upset at its price of $9.99 and reviews claimed the sandwich was dry and lacked flavor. The sandwich continued to be rolled out to locations throughout the summer of 2023, but one Redditor recently posted that “The Roast Beef Sandwich is no more at my local Costco” in Madison, WI, along with a photo of the menu with the missing item. Another shopper from Glenville, IL also said that the sandwich had disappeared there too.
There was a discontinuation rumor back in October regarding the sandwich being pulled at locations nationwide and it looks like it could be true. Some shoppers were thrilled about the news with one commenting “Good riddance” and another saying “Gone but also forgotten.” Costco did not respond to requests from EatThis,NotThat! for a confirmation that the sandwich had been discontinued.

Taco Bell Announces New Cantina Chicken Menu, New Cheesy Chicken Crispinada and More.
Taco Bell just announced tons of new menu items, product announcements, and 2024 partnerships during a Live Más event in Las Vegas. There’s a new Cantina Chicken Menu, a new Chicken Crispada, and partnerships with brands that include MTN DEW, Cheez-It and Tajín. Below is a summary of the major announcements and products with the full list found HERE.
The new Cantina Chicken Menu debuts a new flavorful oven-roasted, shredded, and spiced chicken along with all-new ingredients such as purple cabbage, pico de gallo, a white corn taco shell and a new Avocado Verde Salsa sauce. New items on the menu will be available nationwide soon and include the Cantina Chicken Burrito, Cantina Chicken Taco (soft or crispy), Cantina Chicken Quesadilla and the Cantina Chicken Bowl.
New menu items from Taco Bell’s test kitchen that will be available at participating locations include:
- Cheesy Chicken Crispinada – arrives on menus on February 15 and features marinated chicken slow-cooked with tomato, onion, and garlic with monterey pepper jack, cheddar, and mozzarella cheeses served in a crispy pastry dough.
- Crispy Chicken Nuggets – all-white meat chicken marinated in spiced jalapeño buttermilk then breaded in a tortilla coating and fried. Two sauce options are signature Bell sauce or a hot and sweet Jalapeño Honey Mustard.
- Cheesy Street Chalupas – cheesy flatbread with a small tortilla stuffed with mozzarella and pepper jack cheeses fried together and filled with a choice of slow-roasted chicken or grilled, marinated steak, topped with diced onions, cilantro, and sauce.
Other new items include MTN DEW BAJA BLAST Gelato, Cheesy Enchilada Dipping Taco, and Dulce de Leche Cinnabon Delights.
2024 partnerships and new menu items with brands and artists include:
- Cheez-It: The Cheez-It Crunchwrap – features a real Cheez-It Cracker that’s 16 times the size of a normal one with seasoned beef, nacho cheese sauce, and classic Crunchwrap fixings inside a folded tortilla.
- Tajín – an all-new menu is coming that will be combining Taco Bell classics with Tajín’s blend of chili peppers, sea salt, and lime. Items are the Tajín Crunchy Taco, Tajín Twists, and Tajín Strawberry Freeze.
- Salt & Straw – a Portland-based ice cream company famous for innovative flavors that will be offering an all-new Taco Bell x Salt & Straw always-crispy Ice Cream Chocolate Taco made with hand-pressed waffle cones, fresh-made cinnamon ancho ice cream dipped in single-origin chocolate and studded with toasted brown rice with sauces and dips.
Other collaboration items are Secret Aardvark Serrabanero sauce with Nacho Fries, Disha Hot sauce, and Beekeeper Coffee with a new Horchata Cold Brew Latte.
Taco Bell is also collaborating with emerging chefs in a newly launched TBS program with the equation of “their thing + our thing = a whole new thing.” Three headliner chefs are Jennifer Hwa Dobbertin, Reuben Asaram and Lawrence Smith. They will team up with the Taco Bell Food and Innovation team to co-create and reimagine Taco Bell’s iconic Crunchwrap Supreme. It will debut later this year at select Taco Bell locations.
