Buckingham Palace announced yesterday that 75-year-old King Charles the Third has cancer. They didn't specify what type, but the prognosis is reportedly good and it was caught "very early".
It was discovered during his latest procedure for a benign enlarged prostate. The Palace says, quote, "He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible . . .
"His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer."
Prince Harry will be traveling to visit his father, but it's unlikely Meghan Markle and the kids will join. Sources say this visit could force Harry and Prince William into an "uneasy truce".
If Charles decides to step down due to illness, William is next in line if you're wondering. He's followed in the line of succession by his three kids: George, Charlotte, and Louis. Harry is fifth in line.
If it matters to you, Prince George is 10. His royal siblings are eight and five.
