10 Burger Chains That Serve The Best French Fries.

Burger chain French fries are a must-have addition to a burger for most folks and according to a University of California- Davis, study, Americans eat an average of 40 pounds of French fries per year. EatThis,NotThat! has listed the 10 best French fries from American burger chains, and here are their findings along with nutritional information. 

  1. Shake Shack – this chain started in New York City in 2004 and is famous for its crinkle-cut fries in several varieties including Spicy Fries and Spicy Cheese Fries that are tossed in a pepper blend and served with a side of Ranch dressing. BACON CHEESE FRIES: 840 calories, 52 g fat (21 g saturated fat), 1570 mg sodium, 65 g carbs (7 g fiber, 1 g sugar) 
  2. Smashburger – Smashfries are sliced potatoes cooked in blended oil and tossed in a garlic and rosemary mixture. They also serve plain fries if that’s more your style. SMASHFRIES: 420 calories, 21 g fat (6 g saturated fat), 690 mg sodium, 53 g carbs (3 g fiber, 0 g sugar), 4 g protein 
  3. McDonald’s – famous fries use premium Russet Burbank potatoes produced in eastern Canada and parts of the northern US and are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. WORLD FAMOUS FRIES (SMALL): 230 calories, 11 g fat (1.5 g saturated fat), 190 mg sodium, 31 g carbs (3 g fiber, 0 g sugar), 3 g protein 
  4. Five Guys – Five Guys has over 1,400 U.S. locations and serves two styles of fries – Five Guys style cooked in cholesterol-free, 100% peanut oil and Cajun style also cooked in the same oil but cooked twice and sprinkled with a blend of Cajun spices. They are cut fresh and are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. FIVE GUYS STYLE FRIES (REGULAR): 953 calories, 41 g fat (7g saturated fat), 962 mg sodium 131 carbs (15 g fiber, 4 g sugar), 15 g protein 
  5. Steak’n Shake – known for thin, classic shoestring fries using newly harvested potatoes and always cooked fresh. THIN ‘N CRISPY FRIES (REGULAR): 450 calories, 24 g fat (4 g saturated fat), 930 mg sodium, 54 g carbs (5 g fiber, <1g sugar), 4 g protein 
  6. Culver’s – crinkle-cut fries are always made fresh using common fry oil and potatoes from the Pacific Northwest with a crispy, crunch exterior and fluffy center. CRINKLE CUT FRIES (SMALL): 240 calories, 9 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 350 mg sodium, 35 g carbs (3 g fiber, 0 g sugar), 4 g protein 
  7. Wendy’s – their fries are natural-cut with the skin on and seasoned with sea salt and come in varieties that include ghost pepper fries, Baconator fries, and chili cheese fries. In recent polls, their fries have come out on top of McDonald’s. NATURAL-CUT FRIES (SMALL): 260 calories, 12 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 470 mg sodium, 35g carbs (3 g fiber, 0 g sugar), 4 g protein 
  8. Burger King – their fries are sourced from Thompson Family Farms that include growers from Eastern Washington and Oregon and their recipe has changed in 1998 and again in 2011 to keep up with the competition. FRENCH FRIES (SMALL): 320 calories, 13 g fat (2 g saturated fat), 300 mg sodium, 49 g carbs (5 g fiber, 1 g sugar), 4 g protein 
  9. In-N-Out – serves fresh, hand-cut fries using 100% sunflower oil made from the “finest, freshest potatoes” shipped “right from the farm” and individually cut at every In-N-Out location. Their fries can be cooked to order and use Kennebec potatoes. PER SERVING (125 G): 370 calories, 15 g fat (1.5 g saturated fat), 250 mg sodium, 52 g carbs (6 g fiber, 0 g sugar), 6 g protein 
  10. BurgerFi – serves fresh fries cut by hand from whole Russet potatoes using a three-step process in their 120 locations. They source only from top suppliers and the potatoes are hand-washed on site and toppings include parmesan cheese, Cajun seasoning, truffle oil and bacon and cheddar cheese sauce. FRIES (REGULAR): 650 calories, 33 g fat (5 g saturated fat), 340 mg sodium, 77 g carbs (9 g fiber, 0 g sugar), 10 g protein
