Dave Grohl, Chad Smith, Rock Out A Bunch of Covers With Shane Hawkins
It was an all-star event over the weekend at… a pizza joint. Foo Fighter genius Dave Grohl joined forces with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith to play along with rock cover band Chevy Metal.
And the rockers didn’t come alone… they brought along the teenage son of late Foo drummer Taylor Hawkins, Shane Hawkins. Shane went viral last year after playing his heart out at tribute shows for his dad. Chevy Metal, co-founded by the late Taylor Hawkins, welcomed the trio at the Rock N Roll Pizza Bar in Simi Valley, CA.
Grohl took the reins at the start of the evening, leading the band in covers of The Police, Thin Lizzy, The Rolling Stones, and even a “mini-Van Halen set.” Shane jumped in on drums for Van Halen songs, as well Led Zeppelin’s “Moby Dick.” Chad Smith helped close out the night with AC/DC’s “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.”

The Killers To Release New Single This Week:
Fresh off kicking up a controversy in the nation of Georgia, The Killers are back with a new single. At least, they will be on Friday. The band has announced “Your Side Of Town” is due out tomorrow (August 25th). “With much excitement, we present you with ‘Your Side Of Town,” wrote the Brandon Flowers-led band on social media. “It’s got the ghosts of a lot of synth music that inspired us over the years. And yet somehow feels completely our own.” The new track is the follow-up to last year’s “boy,” which itself was originally part of 2021’s “Pressure Machine.”

Jelly Roll and Brantley Gilbert Shared the Stage with a 12-Year-Old Rapper.
You know country music is evolving when you can go to a show and watch a 12-year-old rapper perform onstage.
Jelly Roll performed in Milwaukee over the weekend, and he fulfilled a 12-year-old's request to help him perform "Son of the Dirty South" . . . Jelly's song with Brantley Gilbert. The kid's name is Brady, and he blew everyone away.
This wasn't COMPLETELY random, though. Brady has been accumulating a following on social media over the past couple of years . . . and earlier this month, he performed the same song with Brantley at one of HIS gigs.
Brady has also performed onstage with Dickie Allen, Three Days Grace, I Prevail, and Limp Bizkit. Seems like this kid has a good agent.

(Here's UNCENSORED Brady performing with Jelly . . . and here's a UNCENSORED clip from earlier this year with Brantley. Unfortunately, the audio quality on both is poor.)
