Fast-food chains make changes to their menus frequently to keep things fresh, and Wendy’s is no exception. Items are added and removed, and it’s sometimes hard to keep up with the changes, but customers and fans on social media make it easier to follow the current trends. According to Wendy’s customers, these seven menu items are the best ones to order right now.
- Baconator – one of the most talked-about items on Reddit, this burger contains a half-pound of beef, American cheese, mayo, ketchup, and six pieces of Applewood smoked bacon. It’s certainly not the most healthy choice, but it’s popular and costs $8.99 in a Wendy’s New Jersey location. 960 calories, 66 g fat (27 g saturated fat, 3 g trans fat), 1,540 mg sodium, 36 g carbs (1 g fiber, 7 g sugar), 57 g protein.
- Bacon Cheeseburger – this $3.19 burger features a beef patty, Applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. One fan proclaimed “JBC is always good.” 370 calories, 23 g fat (8 g saturated fat, 1 g trans fat), 650 mg sodium, 25 g carbs (1 g fiber, 5 g sugar), 18 g protein.
- Breakfast Baconator – one of Wendy’s most popular breakfast items, it has grilled sausage, American cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, swiss cheese and a fresh-cracked egg. Nutritionists say it’s one of the most unhealthy options but it gets high marks from customers. It goes for $4.79 in New Jersey right now. 710 calories, 48 g fat (19 g saturated fat), 1,740 mg sodium, 37 g carbs (1 g fiber, 7 g sugar), 33 g protein.
- Frosty – this classic item first showed up on Wendy’s menus in 1969 and it’s a cross between ice cream and a milkshake. The basic flavor is Classic Chocolate but limited-edition flavors include strawberry and vanilla from time to time. One Redditor said the Frosty is one of the “greatest gifts to a man.” Current pricing is $2.19. Small order: 310 calories, 9 g fat (6 g saturated fat), 180 mg sodium, 49 g carbs (1 g fiber, 40 g sugar), 10 g protein.
- Seasoned Potatoes – these were first introduced in 2020 when Wendy’s revamped their breakfast menu. They consist of natural-cut, skin-on potatoes cooked with garlic powder and cracked black pepper and go for $1.79 right now in New Jersey. Some customers are requesting that they are served all day instead of only at breakfast time. Small order: 230 calories, 10g fat (2g saturated fat), 630 mg sodium, 32 g carbs (3 g fiber, 1 g sugar), 3 g protein.
- Baconator Fries – Wendy’s version of classic cheese fries with creamy cheese sauce, shredded cheddar and Applewood smoked bacon on top of skin-on fries. They are a fan-favorite with one Reddit post saying “The Baconator Fries are so fire.” Currently priced at $4.19 in New Jersey. 460 calories, 26 g fat (9 g saturated fat), 1,090 mg sodium, 43 g carbs (3 g fiber, 1 g sugar), 14 g protein.
- Spicy Chicken Nuggets – these were taken off the menu in 2017, but a Twitter campaign led by Chance the Rapper got them reinstated in 2019. They feature 100% white meat chicken that’s breaded and marinated in the chain’s “unique, fiery blend of peppers and spices.” Wendy’s fans consider them a classic menu item that tops all other chains. 10-piece order: 470 calories, 31 g fat (7 g saturated fat), 1,190 mg sodium, 22 g carbs (2 g fiber), 26 g protein.
