Now, There Are Smoothies . . . Inspired by Dove Bath Wash?

Have you ever browsed the SCENTS for shampoos and body wash, and thought, "Coconut mint, with a hint of lime?  That sounds amazing . . . and maybe a little . . . DELICIOUS!"

Dove has partnered with a company called Juice Press to create SMOOTHIES inspired by "the ingredients and creamy, nourishing feel of Dove Exfoliating Body Scrubs."

For now, there are two limited-edition flavors:  Crushed Macadamia Vanilla . . . and Crushed Cherry Chia.

You can find them at any of Juice Press's 80 locations, which are mostly in the Northeastern U.S.  They're available now through September 14th.  And if you buy one of these smoothies, you'll get a coupon for $3.00 OFF a body scrub.

Just don't get it twisted, and start slathering your body with smoothies, and drinking your body wash.  (PR Newswire)  (Here's a photo of the Dove-inspired smoothies.)

A McDonald's Customer Found Pennies in Their Chicken McNuggets

No one carries pennies around anymore, but there are a few places you can look for them:  In desk drawers . . . under couch cushions . . . and, apparently, inside chicken nuggets.  (???)

A McDonald's customer in Ohio said she found THREE PENNIES inside her Chicken McNuggets.  Not inside the container . . . inside the ACTUAL nuggets.

She called the police to report the UNEXPECTED 3-CENT DISCOUNT . . . because she was concerned about the safety of others, since it's an obvious choking hazard.  It's also gross . . . and weird.

It's unclear how the pennies got there, but it sounds like the problem may have come from the processing plant . . . because the health department had the place remove the contaminated McNuggets from stock by the lot number.

McDonald's hasn't commented.

What Is Kombucha and Is It Good For You?

You may or may not have heard about Kombucha, but it’s a fermented tea beverage that has been gaining popularity that is supposed to be good for your health, but is it really? The Kombucha industry had generated $1.7 billion in revenue by 2019 per Wikipedia and it originated in China according to some sources. It’s also not related to Japanese Kombucha tea which is made from seaweed

The question remains is if Kombucha is good for you. It’s made with a “symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast” (SCOBY), and fermentation of bacteria and yeast yields the final product in a similar way that vinegar is made. It’s full of probiotics, which are good for your digestive system by introducing “good” bacteria to keep your gut healthy. It’s also good for reducing inflammation according to an article published by heatlh.clevelandclinic.org as well as being an antioxidant and “immune booster.”

Some of the downsides are that it has a high sugar content and some users have experienced upset stomachs. It also is high in caffeine and could be bad for your teeth. Finally, if consumed in large quantities it can lead to liver damage. So the final word is that if you drink Kombucha in moderation you are probably going to be fine. Like any other food or drink, moderation is the key.
