The Eagles Announced a Farewell Tour with Steely Dan

The Eagles announced a farewell tour called The Long Goodbye.  It's still in the early planning stages, so there are only fall dates with Steely Dan so far.

The band says, quote, "The Eagles have had a miraculous 52-year odyssey, performing for people all over the globe . . . keeping the music alive in the face of tragic losses, upheavals and setbacks of many kinds . . .

"Our long-run has lasted far longer than any of us ever dreamed.  But, everything has its time, and the time has come for us to close the circle . . . This is our swan song, but the music goes on and on."

They want to give their fans a chance to see them, so they may return to certain cities if there's high enough demand.  They'll be announcing more dates as plans are set.

When you're fighting off one of the most evil dictators the world has ever seen, sometimes it helps to psyche yourself up with some good, old-fashioned ROCK AND ROLL.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky named three artists that pump him with Putin-bashing power.

Quote, "I like AC/DC.  I don't understand all of the words . . . I like the energy of AC/DC.  I like Eric Clapton, a lot of . . . Guns N' Roses . . . I love it.

"It's important to have some training at six or seven in the morning with such music that gives you energy for all the day."

Tracy Chapman Is Happy Luke Combs Is Having Success with "Fast Car"

Luke Combs' cover of Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car" is such a huge and historic hit you knew Tracy would eventually have to say something about it.  Well, she has.  Here's what she told "Billboard" . . .

Quote, "I never expected to find myself on the country charts, but I'm honored to be there.  I'm happy for Luke and his success and grateful that new fans have found and embraced 'Fast Car'."

Tracy's bank account should be grateful too.  According to "Billboard", Luke's version has generated at least $500,000 in publishing royalties.  And she gets most of that because she owns the writers' AND publisher's share of the song.

There's another bonus situation going on.  All this attention has sent people back to Tracy's original version.  The "weekly consumption" of her song has increased 44% since Luke's cover came out.
