Bruce Willis Has Been Diagnosed with Dementia.

We knew Bruce Willis wasn't going to get better, but this is still sad: The family issued a statement yesterday revealing that he's now been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia . . . also known as FTD.

And it's hindering his ability to communicate. It was a year ago next month that Bruce announced he was retiring after being diagnosed with a neurological disorder called aphasia. He's 67 years old.

In the statement, the family said, quote, "As Bruce's condition advances, we hope that any media attention can be focused on shining a light on this disease that needs far more awareness and research."

They added, quote, "We have been so moved by the love you have all shared for our dear husband, father, and friend during this difficult time. Your continued compassion, understanding, and respect will enable us to help Bruce live as full a life as possible."

The statement was signed by Bruce's wife, his kids, and his ex-wife Demi Moore.
