The Rock just earned a "Son of the Year" award . . . over the weekend he surprised his 73-year-old mom with a new HOME. He had been working with a design team for eight weeks to get it ready.
He said, quote, "I've been lucky enough to have bought her a few homes over the years, but this one is special as she's told me over and over these past few years, 'After a lifetime of traveling, I want this home to be my last. That's my dream.' . . .
"I always say, if you got a good mom then you got a shot at becoming a good, caring human being."
The Rock shared videos of his mom entering the home for the first time. Above the front door he put a sign that reads, quote, "Le Samoana" . . . as a nod to their Samoan heritage.
In the family room, he displayed vintage ukuleles and old pictures of their ancestors. And he even made her a "Smackdown Room" filled with her collection of his memorabilia, like WWE championship belts, University of Miami game balls, and posters. (See more videos here and here.)
