Black Dahlia Murder Frontman Trevor Strnad Dies
The Black Dahlia Murder announced on Instagram that their frontman, Trevor Strnad, has died at 41. In the post, the band said he was “A walking encyclopedia of all things music. He was a hugger, a writer, and truly one of the world’s greatest entertainers.”
No cause of death has been released, but the band did end their Instagram post with “National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 800-273-8255.” The band’s last release was the 2020 album Verminous.
The group was supposed to support Parkway Drive on a US tour starting just a few days ago, but Parkway Drive canceled the tour due to “internal conflicts within the band.” TBDM had a summer tour of Europe scheduled to start in August.
The comments section of the post features tributes from Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, and others.

Liam Gallagher Blasts Cancel Culture
Liam Gallagher isn’t known for being shy, and the Oasis star isn’t holding back about cancel culture. After being warned during a podcast appearance that he could be “canceled” if he doesn’t change his behavior, Gallagher replied, “Who the f*** are these people canceling you, anyway?”
He says it’s affecting bands and singers because he thinks they’re afraid to be themselves. “No one is really blowing my mind if I’m being brutally honest,” he said to the hosts of The 2 Johnnies Podcast, adding “I have got a problem with a lot of these bands today who go, ‘I’m an artist. No, you’re f***ing not, you’re a geezer in a band so shut the f*** up.”

Michael Anthony Confirms Van Halen Tribute Tour Talks
There’s at least some truth to the rumors of another Van Halen tour. Michael Anthony is saying he’s been talking to Alex Van Halen and David Lee Roth about a tribute tour, but the talks didn’t get very far.
Former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted said he’d been approached by Alex about taking part in a tribute tour, with Joe Satriani on guitar. For his part, Anthony says he was talking with his former bandmates and Van Halen manager Irving Azoff at the same time, “so I don’t know what the Jason thing was all about.”
Roth, for his part, says a new tour would take at least two people for every position in the band, saying “Probably the only one who could do my job today would be Pink.”
