Despite some serious health issues in recent years, VAL KILMER returns to the role of Tom "Iceman" Kazansky in "Top Gun: Maverick". And TOM CRUISE is a big reason for that.
Tom says, quote, "I really rallied hard for him to make the movie. The kind of talent that he has, and you see that scene, it's very special, it's just very special."
Last year, producer Jerry Bruckheimer said, quote, "[Tom] was the driving force. We all wanted him, but Tom was really adamant that if he's going to make another 'Top Gun', Val had to be in it."
He added that Tom and Val's onscreen reunion was, quote, "a really emotional experience for all of us."
