Metallica's Kirk Hammet Shares Solo Single
Kirk Hammett, who you know as the guitarist for Metallica, has an instrumental solo EP coming out on April 23, "Portals." He's shared a new song from it, "High Plains Drifter." Edwin Outwater of Metallica, Jon Theodore of Queens of the Stone Age, and members of the LA Philharmonic orchestra all helped with the track.
Hammett explains that the song does share an inspirational relationship with a film from 1973 with the same name. “[The song] was not meant to be specifically music for that film, but … once it was written, I immediately thought it conveyed the same sentiment as the film, so the piece was christened accordingly. The music for ‘High Plains Drifter’ initially came from a Flamenco piece I had written. It was a two-and-a-half-minute piece, and I really liked it, but it was one of those riffs that would be hard to integrate into Metallica.”
He continued, “I knew I wanted to do something with it, even though it came out spontaneously. I had been sitting outside messing around with a Flamenco acoustic guitar I’d just bought, and it flowed out at the moment. I was determined it would have a life. It would have its moment.”

78-Year-Old Roger Daltrey Says He Still Hopes He Dies Before He Gets Old
ROGER DALTREY from "The Who" is 78 years old . . . and he's been singing the line "Hope I die before I get old" for 57 years. And he doesn't find it ironic at all.
In fact, he STILL hopes he dies before he gets old. (???) Because he doesn't consider himself old.
Quote, "I think it's a state of mind, age . . . I’ve met young people who seem to be incredibly old in their mind, and I've met old people that are incredibly young. You can't measure age in years; you can't measure a lifetime in years. A life is a life."
He adds, quote, "I think life is eternal. I don't think there's many, many lives. You are never going to escape this universe. A part of you will be somewhere in it, even if it's a tiny bit of dust on Jupiter."

"Gangnam Style" Singer Psy Predicted Nine Years Ago that His Next Big Hit Would Come This Year
PSY released the song "Gangnam Style" in 2012. And if you believe in destiny, then his next big hit might just drop this year.
His new album is called "Psy 9th", and it comes out next week on the 29th. And here's where it gets interesting: Psy hyped its release with a video from 2013 . . . where he predicted he'd be dropping his next banger in 2022.
He said, quote, "I know a lot of you have high expectations for my next hit song. To be honest, I produced 'Champion' in 2002, and it took me exactly 10 years to produce a song that is more sensational with the release of 'Gangnam Style' in 2012 . . .
"I guess what I'm trying to say is, perhaps the next time you'll meet a song like 'Gangnam Style' will be in 2022."
