Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell & Wife Shares Poignant Last Message From Taylor Hawkins

Jane’s Addiction’s Perry Farrell and his wife are sharing the poignant last message they received from their good friend, Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died Friday at the age of 50.

In a tribute video to Taylor, Perry called him his “best friend,” noting, “There’s a large part of my heart that I had reserved for him,” adding, “I accepted him into my heart when we became friends because he was such a pure guy. So pure of heart.”

Perry and wife Etty Lau Farrell then shared audio of the last message Taylor left for Etty Thursday night, which Etty said was “something that’s very personal and dear to me,” noting it was sent from Taylor’s hotel room.

“Take care of each other, and I’ll take care of me,” he says, “And I will see you guys in Sao Paolo [at Lollapalooza Brazil]. I love, love, love, love you guys. Sleep tight.”
