Criminals: Thieves Caused $20,000 in Damage to a Jewelry Store

Thieves Caused $20,000 in Damage to a Jewelry Store . . . to Steal $200 Worth of Costume Jewelry

There's an old saying, "the juice ain't worth the squeeze." Well . . .

A group of thieves in L.A. crashed their car into the front of a jewelry store while it was closed on Sunday, and stole all of the jewelry in the front window.

There's security footage of them plowing into the place. Then they scoop up a bunch of rings and necklaces and take off.

But what they didn't realize was everything they stole was just COSTUME jewelry that's basically worthless.

The owners say they caused up to $20,000 in damage to the building . . . and the jewelry they stole is worth about 200 bucks. (Is that even enough to cover the damage to their own car?)

A lot of jewelry stores put fake stuff in the front window for this exact reason. And luckily, it sounds like their insurance should cover the damages.

Cops are still looking for the idiots who did it.

Someone Lit the Fox News Christmas Tree on Fire

Maybe there really IS a war on Christmas . . . because yesterday, the 50-foot tree outside of Fox News headquarters in Manhattan went up in flames . . . and yes, it WAS intentional.

A 49-year-old homeless man was arrested and charged with arson, criminal mischief, and trespassing. He climbed the tree, stuffed newspaper in open spaces, and lit it with a lighter.

The Fox tree wasn't a real tree, by the way. It was a metal structure with a bunch of stuff on it to make it LOOK like a tree.

There's no word on the guy's motive, but he has prior arrests for drug possession and public intoxication.

The tree had just been lit during a network special on Sunday . . . but a new tree will go up in its place.

Fox News boss Suzanne Scott said, quote, "We will not let this deliberate and brazen act of cowardice deter us."
