IS HE WRONG? Woman Furious Boyfriend Spent Over $1K On Date With Female BFF

A woman is upset that her boyfriend is planning an expensive weekend out …because it’s for another woman.

In a now-deletedRedditpost, the boyfriend explains that his lifelong best friend is a woman who grew up with him in foster care and they’ve stayed close as adults. But even though they share a deep bond, there’s nothing romantic about their relationship. In fact, his BFF is married and he’s good friends with her husband, too. But his current girlfriend thinks he’s out of line for the extravagant date he’s planning with his bestie.

It sounds like quite a romantic night, starting with reservations at a seafood restaurant, because her husband is allergic to shellfish, so she can’t eat it with him.

  • He also scored tickets to a musical she wants to see and plans for them to check out some museums and do a wine tasting, too.
  • He also got them a hotel room, with two beds, of course.
  • And the grand total for this best friends weekend? Nearly $15-hundred!

He says he can afford to treat his “cheerleader” who has always believed in him, but his girlfriend of six months? She’s not a fan and questions why he’s splurging on someone who isn’t her. He says he sees his bestie “as a sister” and that it’s not reasonable for his girlfriend to expect big, expensive dates at this point in their relationship. So he turned it over to Reddit to ask if he was wrong here and users are split.

  • “Refer to her as your sister because that's essentially what you are to each other,” one comments, “and for the love of God get two different hotel rooms!”
  • “Don't call it a date! A get away with family maybe,” suggests another user.
  • “Go get a seafood dinner and go see a musical,” one user writes.”But the whole spending the night in one hotel room is a bridge too far for any partner to overlook except what sounds like her exceedingly trusting husband.”
