Jeff Bezos' Ex-Wife Is Giving Away $2.7 Billion

While JEFF BEZOS is preparing to launch himself into space . . . basically because he can . . . his ex-wife MACKENZIE just gave another $2.7 BILLION to various charities.

That's on top of the $6 billion she gave away last year.

MacKenzie and her new husband Dan Jewett say they're troubled by the increasing concentration of wealth among just a few people,

and their goal is to, quote, "give away a fortune that was enabled by systems in need of change."

MacKenzie is worth roughly $60 billion. She and Jeff divorced in 2019, and she walked away with a 4% stake in Amazon.

After the split, she signed the Giving Pledge, which is a promise by rich people to give away the majority of their wealth. It was designed by Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates.

Houston-area groups among latest recipients

Project Row Houses in Third Ward, Lee College in Baytown, San Jacinto Community College and Brazosport College are among the local groups getting money this time around.

Since July 2020, Scott, who has signed the Giving Pledge, has donated $8.4 billion to charities. Last December, she gave $18 million to the Greater Houston YMCA and $50 million to Prairie View A&M University, the most money from a single donation either entity had ever received up until that point.
