Borat's 'Daughter' Is Actually 24 And Looks VERY Different In Real Life

UPDATE - According to Variety, director James Gunn has confirmed that Maria Bakalova has been cast in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Her role is still a mystery, like everything else about the movie, but she's in it, along with returning Guardians Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel. Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan and Pom Klementieff.

The Borat sequel dropped on Amazon Prime Video last weekend and stirred up all kinds of controversy. Turning off some viewers with its political stance, the movie has also sparked debate over the now-infamous scene with Rudy Giuliani, been hit with a lawsuit from the estate of a Holocaust survivor whose family alleged that she was tricked into appearing, and has people scratching their heads trying to figure out what's real and what's not.

One thing everyone seems to agree on is that the breakout star is Maria Bakalova, the young woman who plays Borat's 15-year-old daughter Tutar. Bakalova is actually a 24-year-old Bulgarian actress and flautist making her American film debut. She won the role after production auditioned more than 600 women from all over the world.

Her character gets a makeover in the movie, but she looks very different in real life than anything depicted on screen. Check out some highlights below.
