It's been a big summer for drive-in movies. With most of the country's movie theaters shut down by the pandemic and movie studios not releasing any of the blockbusters that were originally scheduled to open, the summer box office has been dominated by outdoor showings of classics like Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Grease. Cinemark has select theaters open now and the other major theater chains are working to reopen as soon as they can safely get back to business, but there are a couple of options in the Houston area for drive-in movies.
Here's what's playing this weekend. If you're interested, act fast. These showings sell out pretty quickly.
