How Long Are Thanksgiving Leftovers Good?
One of the best parts of Thanksgiving is all the leftovers. But sometimes they don’t get eaten as quickly as we expect, so it’s important to know how long we can store these foods in the fridge or freezer before they go bad.
Based on information from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and U.S. Department of Agriculture, this is how long your Thanksgiving staples will last in the fridge or freezer. But use your eyes, nose, and instincts - if something looks or smells off, don’t take a chance, just throw it out.
·Turkey - Leftover poultry only lasts three to four days in the fridge and four months in the freezer, or six months if it’s frozen in broth or gravy.
·Ham - Just three to four days in the fridge and one to two months in the freezer.
·Mashed potatoes - When you cook them with cream and butter, they’re good for three to four days in the refrigerator and frozen, they can last up to two months. But if you cook them without dairy, they can last in the freezer for 10 to 12 months.
·Gravy - Any broth made with meat will also last three to four days in the fridge and one to two months if frozen.
·Cranberry sauce - It’s not great for freezing since it can get too watery when thawed, but it can last for up to a week in the fridge.

Is White Meat Really Healthier Than Dark Meat?
We saw a Thanksgiving survey yesterday that found 50% of people like white meat . . . 32% prefer dark . . . and everyone else isn't sure, or doesn't eat turkey. Now here's a follow-up question: Is white meat really healthier?
A lot of people think it is, because it's not as fatty. But that's only half the story.
Dark meat DOES have more fat. But it's also higher in certain nutrients, like iron, zinc, selenium, and B vitamins.
There's also not a huge difference in calories. Any three-ounce cut of meat from a turkey has 160 to 190 calories. So we're only talking about a 30-calorie difference.
The real thing to pay attention to is how MUCH you eat. Because if you're going back for seconds or thirds, it's unhealthy no matter what.
Also, the true calorie bombs at Thanksgiving are the side dishes. One serving of mashed potatoes is about 240 calories . . . stuffing, 195 . . . green bean casserole, 225 . . . and pumpkin pie, 280 calories per slice. Or more if you add whipped cream.
In other words, you're better off eating more turkey and fewer sides. And don't worry too much about white meat vs. dark. Just eat what you like, and don't overdo it.

Papa John's Founder John Schnatter Ate 40 Pizzas in 30 Days and Says It's Gotten Worse
Remember John Schnatter? He's the founder of Papa John's Pizza, who stepped down as CEO a couple years ago after blaming his struggling sales on the NFL's National Anthem protests.
Even worse, he was caught using the N-word in a conference call, although he claims he was saying it to express how much he HATED racism.
In any event, in a new interview, he claims he's eaten 40 PIZZAS in 30 DAYS . . . and he implies that they were all Papa John's. And he DIDN'T enjoy them.
Quote, "I've probably had over 40 pizzas in the last 30 days, and they don't make the pizza the way I used to make it . . . it just doesn't taste as good." It's unclear why he kept eating the pizzas if they weren't good. Maybe he gets them for free.
Schnatter does say he likes that they hired SHAQ as their new pitchman, but he doesn't think they're using him in the best way.
He also says the, quote, "day of reckoning will come" when he will be vindicated, and people will realize his ouster was a "set-up."
