No One Showed Up to Max's Party, So Houston Super Heroes Save The Day

Listener Susie emailed us when we discussed the topic about RSVPing to kids birthday parties!

Her son Max wanted a "friends-only" birthday party at Urban Air, a trampoline place. Even though it was a little out of Susie's budget she went through with it anyways. She invited 30 kids to the party and of the 30 only one kid and her sister showed up. You can read her full email here.

Houston Cosplay for Charity heard this story on air and wanted to help! So we hooked them up with Susie and they surprised him with another party full of superheros, Urban Air Pearland even helped set up the party for him! Check out all the photos and video from the awesome event!

An email from Brandi (aka Wonder Woman):

"Houston Cosplay for Charity had a wonderful time celebrating Max’s birthday today! Max is an awesome kid, and Susie is a wonderful mom! She wanted to surprise Max with this party, and I think he got the surprise of his life when he walked into a room full of friends, family, and superheroes.

HC4C had Wonder Woman, Deadpool, Captain America, Batman, Black Widow, Storm, Catwoman, Star-Lord, and Gamora all on hand to give Max a super birthday party. A big thank you to Urban Air Pearland for donating a party to Max, and an even bigger thank you to the Rod Ryan Show for putting us in touch with Susie and Max.

Today was a very special day, and I’m so glad we got to help Max have a birthday as wonderful as he is!"

An email from Brandi (aka Wonder Woman):

"This was such a special event - Max is an awesome kid, and I had so much fun visiting with Susie several times as we put this party together. The gratitude from both Susie and Max has been overwhelming, and the HC4C crew is honored and humbled to have been able to help out such a wonderful family!

When I forwarded Max’s thank you video and an email Susie sent today, our message group was full of “I’m not crying...you’re crying!” and “Who’s cutting onions in here??” Susie passed along the following from Max today in that email: “We were riding home when Max said, “Momma, [they] didn’t look exactly like they do in the movies..” I thought to myself, “Oh no! He figured it out!” But then he said, “I know why though. Those guys are the real superheroes and don’t have time to run off and make movies all the time, so they have to hire actors to play them.” I told him he was exactly right, you guys are the true superheroes.”

Boy, did that ever get the waterworks going from the crew! The smiles, hugs, and joy make it all worth while! Thank you again for putting us in touch, and also a big thank you to Urban Air Pearland for donating a party for Max!"
