Why Coffee Experts Recommend Brewing With Filtered Water

Do you think regular tap water is suitable for your morning coffee? Experts disagree, suggesting that filtered water can actually enhance the flavor of your brew and may even extend the lifespan of your coffee maker. Filtering water removes chlorine, metallic tastes, and other undesirable flavors that boiling alone cannot eliminate. Additionally, it helps reduce mineral buildup, which can occur in kettles, drip coffee makers, and espresso machines. However, avoid using distilled water, as coffee requires some minerals to extract flavors properly and achieve the best taste. If your tap water isn't great, you don't need to invest in an expensive filtration system; a simple pitcher or faucet filter can be a good starting point.
