Motley Crue Does Use Backing Tracks, But All the Band Members (Supposedly) Play Live
The guys in Motley Crue have been accused for years of using backing tracks during their live shows. Mick Mars even made that claim when he sued the band after they fired him.
Well, Nikki Sixx is finally putting the controversy to rest by saying . . . THEY DO use backing tracks. But not in the way they've been accused of.
According to Nikki, they use backing tracks for things they can't do live, like orchestras and saxophones. They got the idea from Queen, who used backing tracks for "Bohemian Rhapsody".
But Nikki adds, quote, "We do play 100% live. And it's better for the fans and we enjoy being able to do what we did in the studio live. It's a win-win for us."
