Food: New Old Trend Salted Peanuts in Your Coke

New (Old) Trend: Salted Peanuts in Your Coke

If you live in the South . . . or you're a REAL old-schooler . . . you're probably familiar with this classic snack hack: Dumping peanuts in your bottle of Coca-Cola.

Some people still like to do it on road-trips, but there was a time when it was known as "Farmer's Coke" . . . because people would combine them when out working in the fields. And back then, it was often RC Cola.

Anyway, "peanuts in cola" is having a moment on social media again, with younger people trying it. And it's even going viral globally, like in Japan.

If you haven't had it, there's nothing earth-shattering: The Coke still tastes like Coke, the peanuts still taste like peanuts. There's a salty-sweet thing going on . . . but it's not that different than having nuts, and washing them down with soda, separately.

The exciting part for most people is the newness, or the nostalgia if it's something they used to do when they were younger.

Without that, it can be underwhelming for a couple reasons:

1.  It can be messy. You have to drink some of the Coke to make room in the bottle, and then, combining them can make it really fizzy.

2.  It can be a choking hazard. The texture is awkward having peanuts in your drink . . . especially a carbonated one. And you do have to be careful to chew the nuts and make sure they don't go down the wrong pipe.

A Man Ordered 11 McDonald's Meals for His Large Family in a Drive-Thru, and It Required "Management Approval"

There was a time when you could feed a small army at McDonald's for $80. Now, that's the price for a family . . . a large family.

A man named Brownie is going viral on TikTok for going through a McDonald's drive-thru, and ordering an Egg McMuffin and a whopping 11 Big Breakfast with Hotcakes meals.

The employee made sure they were hearing that right, and told the guy that would probably take a while. Brownie said that's fine, he has "eight hungry kids at the house." He just wanted them to get it right.

The worker also said they'd need to wait for "manager approval" on an order that large. Eventually they got it . . . and the total bill was $83.34.

Some people in the comments are saying that's "rude" and it's an "inside order," but others say it's not a big deal.

Some people also criticized Brownie for spending so much and said he should just MAKE eggs or pancakes at home for that many kids . . . so Brownie posted a follow-up video of the kids saying, "We wanted McDonald's!"
