While some actors are fighting A.I. tooth and nail, others are just GIVING IN. Like Michael Caine, who has partnered up with a company called ElevenLabs to deliver his voice to . . . whoever.
Here's how it works: Say you want Michael's voice to deliver some kind of content. You contact ElevenLabs, and they put you in touch with the rights holders.
You hammer out a deal, and then ElevenLabs uses its "voice cloning technology" to deliver the voice.
Michael says, quote, "With ElevenLabs, we can preserve and share voices. Not just mine, but anyone's. ElevenLabs is at the very forefront of technology, using innovation not to replace humanity, but to celebrate it."
Matthew McConaughey is an investor in the company. It's not clear if his voice is up for grabs, but he's using ElevenLabs to translate his audio newsletter, "Lyrics of Livin'", into Spanish.
ElevenLabs already has a small collection of famous voices, alive and dead . . . although mostly dead.
They include Art Garfunkel (alive), Liza Minnelli (still hangin' in there), John Wayne (dead), and Mark Twain (WTF???)
