Sydney Sweeney's boxing biopic "Christy" got okay reviews. It has a 66% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. And many reviews, even less-than-stellar ones, gave Sydney high marks for her performance.
But the movie bombed over the weekend, and it bombed hard. It opened in more than 2,000 theaters and only made $1.3 million.
But Sydney isn't discouraged. In a new Instagram post, she says she's "deeply proud" of the movie, and she thinks it helped, quote, "raise awareness for so many affected by domestic violence."
She adds, quote, "We don't always just make art for numbers, we make it for impact. And 'Christy' has been the most impactful project of my life. Thank you, Christy. I love you."
