Knotfest Was Apparently A “Disaster”

Knotfest returned to Iowa with a killer lineup this year. An estimated 30,000 fans came out to the National Balloon Classic Field to see Slipknot, Megadeth, Lamb Of God, Gojira, and more this past weekend… and apparently, the event was a big “disaster.”

The Twitterverse has exploded with negative accounts of the festival. Apparently, fans weren’t allowed to bring refillable water bottles into the festival grounds, and the lack of vendors mixed with understaffing meant festivalgoers was getting seriously dehydrated.

According to some fans, they had to pay $20 for a single bottle of water… and that the line to get one was two hours long. And if you wanted to leave the festival grounds? That was apparently another hour-long line to wait in. Check out the tweets below.

One highlight of the fest? The sons of two Slipknot members hit the stage

Corey Taylor and Clown’s sonos Griffin Taylor and Simon Crahan are in a band together, Vended, who performed at Knotfest Iowa. The festival gig followed their first headlining show last year, also held in Iowa.

Gwar Refutes Dave Grohl’s Story About Joining The Band

GwarsaysDave Grohlhas his story about joining the band all wrong. In a new “Rolling Stone” interview, Dave reveals he was once a member of Gwar but ended up changing his mind.

But Gwar says things went a little differently than the Foo Fighters frontman remembers. According to Blothar The Berserker, Dave was in the band for about seven-and-a-half minutes before they fired him.

“He used to hang around the track with all the other young punks jacked on gak. This is back before he lost all his teeth,” he says. “We hired him and then called him back immediately and fired him. He was in the band for around 7 and a half minutes. He was holding us back.”

I don't know, but the part where he waits for someone in the audience to throw the ball back to him absolutely slew me.
