ZZ Top Returns To Stage After Dusty Hill’s Passing

ZZ Top’s longtime bassist Dusty Hill passed away at 72. Before his passing, Dusty told the band “the show must go on!” – and the band is living up to those words by continuing their ongoing tour.

On Friday, ZZ Top returned to the stage for their first concert since Dusty’s death. The band’s longtime guitar tech Elwood Francis filled in for Dusty for the show in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Onstage, Billy Gibbons paid tribute to their late bassist.

"We're gonna have a good time in here tonight. Got a new guy up here, as you know. Dusty gave me the directive. My friend, your pal, Elwood Francis is gonna hold it down behind me," Billy told the crowd. "How about that, Elwood? Tearing up that bottom there for Dusty."

  • ONE MORE THING! ZZ Top fans have been blasting their tunes to honor Dusty’s legacy with the band. ZZ Top is dominating the Rock charts on Apple Music. “Sharp Dressed Man” is peaking in the second spot of Top Rock Songs, along with two versions of “La Grange” in the Top 10. Their “Greatest Hits” compilation is in the fifth spot of Top Rock Albums, and “Tres Hombres” is in the ninth spot.

Limp Bizkit’s Fred Durst Debuts New Look At Lollapalooza

It looks like Fred Durst is really done with his signature red baseball cap. We told you before that he confused fans with a new look on Instagram… which he doubled down on during Limp Bizkit’s set at Lollapalooza over the weekend.

Durst hit the stage with a full head of gray hair and a handlebar mustache, along with some red aviator shades, a button-up shirt, and a windbreaker. But his unrecognizable appearance didn’t change anything about the performance, Limp Bizkit performed hits like “Nookie,” “Break Stuff,” and “My Generation.”

Of course, the Twitterverse had plenty to say about Fred’s new look, just like they did when he first revealed it on Instagram. “I love that Fred Durst looks like he lives in the Beastie Boys ‘Sabotage’ music video,” writes one Twitter user.

Slipknot has broken their silence on the death of their founding drummer Joey Jordison. As we previously reported, Joey’s family confirmed last week that he passed away at the age of 46.
