Courtney Love Drops New Single

·

Courtney Love has dropped her first new single in years. “Mother” is featured on the star-studded soundtrack of “The Turning,” an upcoming horror movie starring “Stranger Things’” Finn Wolfhard.

The new blues-tinged song features some haunting guitar with Love’s strong vocals on top, building from a ballad to a full-on Tom Petty-inspired rock track. The soundtrack also features songs by Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth and more.

“It’s a genuine privilege to have had the opportunity to work with the genius that is [director] Floria Sigismondi, especially as I’m alongside so many other fantastic female artists I respect,” Love says about the song in a statement. “I’ve long admired her work, particularly The Runaways and Marilyn Manson videos.” Check out a clip of the track to the right.
