What is World Diabetes Day?

World Diabetes Day is every year on November 14, first created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Foundation and the World Health Organization. Diabetes is a chronic disease where the pancreas doesn’t produce enough insulin if any at all. It also leads to serious health conditions and, in many ways, can be preventable. That’s why we take this day to spread awareness and education.

Gayle King Posed Nude During College But She’s Got The Negatives - Gayle King is proving she’s always been smart about her future.

The “CBS This Morning” anchor shared on the “Pretty Big Deal with Ashley Graham” podcast that she posed nude in a photoshoot in college. King explained “Once in college, I was dating a guy who was a photographer, and I thought, ‘OK, let’s have a sexy photoshoot.’”

The amusing part is she was wearing big pink foam hair rollers in the photos. The savvy part is that she went to the dark room with her boo and when the negatives were developed and photos created, she got the negatives and took them home.

Oprah’s bestie notes, “I know that they will never see the light of day.”

A Texas death row inmate's execution, scheduled for Wednesday, is on hold by order of a federal appeals court. Patrick Murphy was sentenced to death for the 2000 murder of a police officer. Murphy became a Buddhist while on death row, and claims his religious rights were violated because the state gives Christian and Muslim inmates greater access to their spiritual advisers. The U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans upheld a lower court's stay of execution on Wednesday.

Singer Ellie Goulding is threatening to pull out of the Dallas Cowboys Thanksgiving Day halftime show. She says she's willing to cancel the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Kickoff, a halftime concert that marks the beginning of the annual Red Kettle Campaign, unless the organization pledges a significant donation to the LGBTQ community. The Salvation Army has been criticized in the past for repeated discrimination and political lobbying against the LGBTQ community.

Facebook is taking action against fake accounts on its site. The social media giant's latest Community Standards Enforcement Report shows five-point-four billion such accounts have been taken down so far this year. That's far more than the three-point-three billion accounts removed in 2018. Facebook believes the fake accounts represented about five percent of its worldwide monthly active users during quarters two and three.
