Deepfake Video Is Kind of Terrifying
If you're not terrified of how DEEPFAKE videos are going to affect the future of, like, EVERYTHING, then you're not paying attention. I mean, right now, someone can make a pretty convincing video of ANYONE doing ANYTHING.
Don't believe me? An impressionist named Jim Meskimen made a video of himself reciting a poem as various celebrities, while changing his face to look like them. And it's eerie.
To my eyes, the faces don't look the least bit unnatural. Maybe there are experts who can pick these things out, but given where the technology is now, it seems entirely possible there will come a time when even they can't.

An Irish Grandpa Pranks His Family . . . at His Own Funeral
An Irish grandpa with a wicked sense of humor pre-recorded a message before he passed away to make it sound like he was trapped in his own coffin. And then he had it played at his funeral as the family stood around the open grave.
You hear bagpipes playing, and then his voice says, "Hello? Hello?" There's some pounding on the coffin and then he shouts, "Let me out. Let me out, it's [effing] dark in here." He keeps it up for about a minute, and even breaks into song at the end.
Panera Bread Fired the Employee Who Posted That Behind-The-Scenes Mac and Cheese Clip
The woman who posted the video on TikTok that "exposed" how Panera Bread prepares their mac and cheese has beenfired.
If you haven't seen the video, it shows an employee dropping a bag of frozen mac and cheese into hot water. Then she takes it out, cuts it open, and pours the contents into a bowl.
