Disturbed Vocalist Wants To Sing Super Bowl National Anthem
Disturbed vocalist David Draiman wants to bring rock to the Super Bowl. The band has launched a campaign to have Draiman sing the National Anthem at next year’s Big Game.
Singing the anthem at the Super Bowl is a lifelong dream of Draiman’s, and now it could come true for the rocker. Disturbed is urging fans to “stir it up” by voting for Draiman in a Billboard poll asking fans who they think should sing the anthem at the 2020 event: at last check, Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie is in the lead.
In the history of the Big Game, hard rock or metal vocalists have never sang the National Anthem. The closets example is Billy Joel, who sang the patriotic tune in 1989 and 2007.
·“I love my country, and I would be honored beyond words to have the opportunity to try and inspire, strengthen, and give hope, at a time when we need those things more than ever,” Draiman tells Loudwire. ”Plus, it would be nice to have rock represented on SOME level at the Super Bowl, and prove everyone that there ARE rock singers out there who can do the anthems as much justice as ANY pop artists out there, and even possibly take it higher.”

Alice In Chains Announces Limited-Edition Bourbon
Alice In Chains is serving up spirits with a flavor as unique as their sound. The band has teamed up with Few Spirits and Warner Music Artist Services to release a limited-edition bourbon, “All Secrets Known.”
The spirit is named after the opening track of their first album with frontman William DuVall, 2009’s “Black Gives Way To Blue.” the 101 proof bourbon has a hint of tequila, too, since it’s finished for six months in tequila barrels for a spicy kick.

Van Halen Is on Hiatus, Because of "Health Issues"
DAVID LEE ROTH recently said he thinksVAN HALEN is OVER . . . and while there's no OFFICIAL word, it sounds like EDDIE and ALEX could be dealing with some sort of HEALTH ISSUES.
Toto guitarist Steve Lukather said, quote, "I've been in contact with Ed. We text all the time. I really can't say much, man. I don't wanna say anything . . .
"[Eddie] and Alex are sitting there laying back and they're waiting to see what happens next. I think they're on a hiatus. There's been some health issues that they're dealing with and stuff like that."
(Eddie was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2000, but he's been cancer-free since 2002. As far as we know.)
BILLY JOEL made good on a promise to give a fan free tickets to his 101st show.
