Sylvester Stallone is Still Upset He Doesn't Own "Rocky"
SYLVESTER STALLONE has made MILLIONS off the "Rocky" franchise alone. The original was also his springboard to Hollywood stardom, and untold millions MORE.
But Rocky Balboa hasn't been as profitable for him as it could have been . . . because even though he came up with the whole idea and wrote the screenplay himself, he has ZERO OWNERSHIP of it.
In a new interview with"Variety", he says, quote, "It was shocking that it never came to be, but I was told, 'Hey, you got paid, so what are you complaining about?' I was furious."
But"Variety"also talked to others affiliated with the movies, and they say Stallone always had healthy profit participation, as well as other revenue streams.
One person who spoke on condition of anonymity said, quote, "He made money from every angle, and still does, so I don't know what he's complaining about."
