Lindsey Buckingham Had Open Heart Surgery and Neal Schon Had His Gallbladder Out
This past week wasn't a good one for a couple of aging rock guitarists . . . but thankfully, it sounds like they're doing okay.
Former FLEETWOOD MAC guitarist LINDSEY BUCKINGHAM had emergency open heart surgery last week. His wife said , quote, "He's now recuperating at home, and each day he is stronger than the last. While he and his heart are doing well, the surgery resulted in vocal cord damage."
She didn't elaborate, so it's unclear whether the damage is permanent or not, although, future tour dates have been put on hold.
She added, quote, "If anyone is experiencing even the mildest of symptoms, we encourage you to seek the care of a physician."
Meanwhile, NEAL SCHON from JOURNEY had his gallbladder removed. On Friday, he Tweeted , quote, "Had to go into the E.R. [to have a] very inflamed [and] infected gallbladder taken out, and honestly I couldn't feel better.
"I’ve apparently had this for the last three-and-a-half years, and didn't know it! I thought it was parasites. I'm feeling better than ever."
