MUSIC: STP's New Song, Linkin Park Live Album + More

1. The Stone Temple Pilots Have Revealed Their New Lead Singer

The STONE TEMPLE PILOTS have a new lead singer and as expected, it's former "X Factor" contestant Jeff Gutt.  He's 41, and in addition to his time on TV, he was also the lead singer of a nu-metal band called Dry Cell.

STP says Jeff beat out 15,000 people who wanted the gig, which is surprising since in just the past two years, STP has had two lead singers outright DIE on them, and they haven't had a hit song in 16 years.

But they're hoping to change that.  They've already recorded an album with Jeff.  There's no word on a title yet, but it'll be out sometime early next year.  STP's last full-length album came out over seven years ago.

The new Stone Temple Pilots performed their first show in West Hollywood on Tuesday night.

Bassist Robert DeLeo says, quote, "We're not gonna be around forever.  So, we just want to be making music.  And we want Jeff to be a part of that."

2. Linkin Park Is Releasing a Live Album Featuring Chester Bennington

The future of LINKIN PARK is still in doubt but yesterday, they said they're going to put out a live album called "One More Light Live", which will have stuff from their final tour with Chester Bennington, earlier this year.

The band says, quote, "We dedicate this live album to our brother Chester who poured his heart and soul into 'One More Light' Chester shared with us that he felt this was the best tour we had ever done.

"The camaraderie and joy we experienced on stage reflected our deep connection with each other, with our fans, and with the music."  It'll be out December 15th.

3. Chad Smith from the Chili Peppers

played with the University of Kansas marching band on Tuesday night at the Jayhawks' game against Kentucky. Jimi Hendrix's "Fire" was the tune. The Jayhawks won 65-61.

6. Watch Drake Call Out a Fan Who Was Groping Women During His Show

It sounds like DRAKE has heard ENOUGH about creepy guys taking advantage of women, because when he sees it in one of his crowds, he's willing to put the brakes on, mid-song, to stop it.

During a post-concert performance in Australia, Drake noticed a guy groping women, and he went off.  He said, quote, "If you don't stop touching girls, I'm gonna come out there and [eff] you up.

"If you don't stop putting your hands on girls, I'm gonna come out there and [eff] your ass up."  There's no word if the jackass was thrown out.

7. Talk about an all-star lineup:

ROGER DALTREY put together a photography exhibit to benefit the Teenage Cancer Trust, and he enlisted the help of a few friends: Alice Cooper, Tom Jones, Peter Frampton, Donovan, Ray Davies from the Kinks, John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin, Kenney Jones from The Who, and Bill Wyman from the Rolling Stones.
