Employee Fired For Angry Tweet About $6 BBQ Sauce Holiday Gift

This reminds me of the jelly-of-the-month club gift in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, except the c-suite guys won't ever realize how sh*tty it is to give employees a $6* bottle of BBQ sauce as their holiday gift. Especially consider that it's Canada and they get real winters where there will be no barbecuing, not for a while.

“I work really hard. We get pushed really hard to reach our sales goals,” he said. “I felt I gave this company so much and I felt really disrespected when I was given barbecue sauce as a holiday gift.”

Irritated, Mehaidli decided to write a tweet from his anonymous Twitter account, which he usually uses to follow the news and sports. The tweet didn’t feel like a risk, he said, because his name does not appear anywhere on the account.

Someone did some digging and figured out who the account belonged to, though. You should definitely read the full article from CTV. There's a lot of interesting info.

*Since they most definitely bought in bulk, do we even think they paid $6 a bottle?
