Could there BE worse news?
After four years of easy availability on Netflix, Friends will be leaving the streaming platform at the end of the year (which is also the end of this month). Netflix acquired the rights to all ten seasons of the sitcom back in 2014 and it's been a staple there ever since, but the show will cease streaming on Jan. 1, 2019.
No official confirmation, but this seems like it must be related to the news that AT&T will be launching it's own streaming service next year. AT&T owns Warner Bros. Television, which includes Friends. It sounds like we will probably still be able to stream Chandler, Monica, Ross, Rachel, Joey, and Phoebe, but we'll have to make room for an additional monthly fee.
