Nirvana's 'In Utero' Producer Refused To Take Any Royalties

Nirvana's 1993 album In Utero has sold millions and millions of copies over the last 25 years.  But amazingly, the man who produced the album isn't seeing any of that money.

Producer Steve Albini refused to take any royalties from the album, instead doing it for a flat fee of $100,000.  Believe it or not, it was Albini's idea, calling it "ethically indefensible" to pay royalties to a producer or engineer instead of the artists.

Albini says he wasn't even a big Nirvana fan at the time, and was sought out by Cobain thanks to his work with the Pixies.

Check out 25 things you may not know about In Utero from Rolling Stone.
