Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker is setting a new boundary with fans.
The musician took to Instagram Stories on Monday (Sept. 7) to share that he would no longer sign autographs or take photos outside hotels or at airports, citing increasingly aggressive autograph seekers.
“Due to the rise of aggressive autograph hounds I won’t be signing anything or doing photos out the front of hotels or at airports at all anymore,” Parker wrote, asking fans not to “be offended” if he declines.
Parker admitted that the situation became concerning after professional autograph seekers allegedly began “using kids,” which he called “all kinds of wrong.”
The band frontman also declared that he wouldn't meet fans in parking lots after concerts “for the time being.” Parker said he had been doing so in Europe, but the crowds eventually became too large for his team to safely manage.
He added that his team asked him to stop the post-show meetups because of the “obvious security risk.”
Tame Impala is currently touring North America in support of their 2025 album Deadbeat.
