Mike Shinoda Gives An Update On Linkin Park's Future
During a recent Twitch session, Mike Shinoda gave a real update on the future of Linkin Park.
He said, “The only Linkin Park news I have for you is that… Yeah, we talk every few weeks – I talk to the guys, or some of the guys. And there’s no tours, there’s no music, there are no albums in the pipeline. Okay, so let me just tell you that. So just keep in your minds that that is not happening.”
Shinoda continued, “I’m just gonna say that much for now. I say that because anytime the band says anything or does anything, everyone tries to start up the hype train, and we’re, like, ‘No, no, no, no. Don’t start up the hype train.’ You’re gonna disappoint yourself. Don’t do that.”

Eddie Vedder Interviews Crew On The International Space Station For Earth Day
In celebration of Earth Day on Friday, Eddie Vedder chatted with astronauts onboard the International Space Station to ask them what lessons folks on Earth could learn from their experiences in space.
“One of the lessons learned is that there are no borders up here,” astronaut Raja Chari shared. “There’s no recognizable lines. For us, it’s a great reminder that we’re all on one Earth, working together.” Thomas Marshburn added, “Living with so many nationalities up here, we discover that we’re so much more alike than we are different…We’re definitely all family.”
They also talked about what they’ve learned in space about the environmental damage on Earth. “The rainforest in Brazil, for example, is getting smaller and smaller. The area where people live that you can see up here, it’s getting bigger and bigger,” ESA astronaut Matthias Maurer shared. “You see flames, and you know people are burning down the rainforest. On the other side of the country, you see rivers being completely flooded and probably lots of villages are taken down, so people suffer,” noting, “That is also a consequence of climate change. All of this is very visible from up here in space.”
The Pearl Jam frontman noted that the whole interview turned out to be “emotional” for him, noting, “I think it’s because I wanted to be an astronaut ever since I was a kid, too.”

Mick Jagger Praises Machine Gun Kelly & Yungblud
Mick Jagger has complained about the lack of rockers in recent years. But two people he's praising? Machine Gun Kelly and Yungblud. He's praising them for helping to keep the spirit of rock music alive.
“In rock music you need energy and there have not been a lot of new rock singers around. Now there are a few,” Jagger said. “You have Yungblud and Machine Gun Kelly. That kind of post-punk vibe makes me think there is still a bit of life in rock and roll.”

Downloading Songs Instead of Streaming Is Better for the Environment
Streaming music seems more environmentally friendly than buying a CD or vinyl record, right? Well, while it is, it still isn't the best option. Turns out, DOWNLOADING is.
According to a "Rolling Stone" article, downloading and streaming a song initially require the same amount of energy. But, once the track is downloaded, it takes less energy to play it again, whereas streaming a song requires the same amount of energy every time.
When a song is streamed, greenhouse gases are produced by both the listener and the Digital Service Provider . . . which is like Spotify or Apple. Also, devices use twice the amount of battery life to play a streamed song as they do a downloaded one.
To give you an idea, Spotify released a 2020 sustainability report that said they produced over 70,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Then you can add another 70,000 tons or so from the users' end.
Basically, there could be an 80% cut in carbon dioxide emissions if all songs were downloaded instead of streamed AND less battery life would be used.
Can't download your music? Well, if you plan on listening to an album more than 27 times, it's best to go "old school" and just buy the CD.
