“Gay” Dog Abandoned At NC Shelter Has A New Home & Happy National Puppy Day

“Gay” Dog Abandoned At NC Shelter Has A New Home - A dog abandoned at a North Carolina shelter for being “gay” now has a new home.

Fezco was ditched because he was being too “clingy” to another male dog, as we told you. It’s natural behavior, but his owners didn’t know that. The story has a happy ending thanks to one couple.

Steve Nichols and his longtime partner John immediately went to the shelter after hearing the story and the couple have adopted Fezco, who they’ve renamed Oscar. They named him after the Irish poet and playwright Oscar Wilde, who was also gay.

Steve says Oscar wasn’t well taken care of by his previous owners. He wasn’t neutered and has heart worms. Luckily, they’ve taken him to the vet and plan and giving Oscar the care he deserves.

Here's the BACKSTORY (if you need more details.)

Shelter Says Dog Was Dumped For Being Gay: A North Carolina shelter says a dog was surrendered because his previous owners thought he might be gay. A post on the Stanly County Animal Shelter Facebook says Fezco got dumped by his owners after he “tried to mate with another male.” If there’s GREAT news for Fezco, it’s that he’s kind to other animals and people…and the shelter is already getting flooded with applications.
