Sixx:A.M. Share 'Talk To Me' As Part Of Opioid Addiction Awareness Campaign

Nikki Sixx knows about addiction better than most, and he also knows about its consequences. In fact, the Mötley Crüe bassist and cofounder was pronounced dead from a heroin overdose for two solid minutes in 1987. However, he was able to lift himself up and has been sober for 18 years now. He's also using his platform to help educate others about opioid addiction and spread awareness.

To help further the discussion, his band Sixx:A.M. has teamed up with the National Opioid Action Coalition (NOAC) and is participating in the organization's #talktome campaign to reduce stigma as a barrier to opioid use disorder prevention, treatment and recovery. On Friday (September 27), the rockers released "Talk to Me," a song that addresses the opioid epidemic head-on with lyrics like "Look at your hands as you’re gripping those pills / You dance with the stigma, then wake up in chills / You’re not alone. Not alone" before offering support to those who need it.

"Don’t be afraid to survive / You know you can / Talk to me," Sixx sings in the chorus before assuring the listener "I’ll be right here waiting by your side."

Listen to "Talk to Me" below and find out how you can be a part of the #talktome campaign by visiting NOAC's official website.
