Connecticut governor Ned Lamont returned home from his Final Four trip to watch UConn win the national title here in Houston and promptly started trash talking H-Town. According to KHOU 11, Lamont made the first comment on Connecticut radio station WPLR:
"You walk around downtown Houston which is butt ugly...not much there..."
The governor apparently went on another radio show and described our downtown area as "kind of godforsaken."
Houston city leaders responded...
Lamont has since walked back the "butt ugly" comment, explaining that he had a ball in Houston and that people here were incredibly gracious and welcoming.
