'Swimfan' Star Erika Christensen Swims In To Save Dog From Drowning

Author Zara Rahim took to Twitter to share a fun celebrity encounter she and her dog had.

From the photos it appears they were vacationing near a river (or possibly a lake?). She was walking her dog down to the water when he fell off the stairs into the water below and panicked. Actress Erka Christensen (Cheaper By The Dozen, Parenthood) happened to be nearby and offered to get him since she was already in her bathing suit. She swam over to rescue the pup, handed him off to Rahim, and then canoed away with her family.

Not a huge deal, but Rahim was blown away and then made the connection between the water rescue and one of Christensen's most iconic roles. Many probably know her best from her work on NBC's Parenthood or her breakout role in Steven Soderbergh's Traffic, but to a lot of people she will always be teen stalker Madison Bell from Swimfan. Christensen starred in that 2002 thriller as a new girl who develops a dangerous obsession with a high school swim team star (Jesse Bradford). Rahim hopped on Twitter to share the story, post a photo of her dog safe and sound, thank Christensen again, and make some fun jokes about her dog maybe being the new Jesse Bradford. Would Christensen end up lurking outside their place later?

Erika Christensen saw the thread and seems to have enjoyed it. Just a nice, wholesome celebrity interaction, complete with a cute dog photo. Check it out below, along with the trailer for Swimfan, in case you're a little hazy on 2002 movies.
